MIAMI — Chilly air has returned just in time for the Winter Solstice Saturday. After a cold start, temperatures will struggle to warm out of the 60s this afternoon under a partly sunny sky. Look for highs topping off near 70 degrees.
Expect another chilly night ahead, with lows set to plunge into the low to middle 50s by Sunday morning.
High pressure will continue to keep dry conditions in the forecast through Sunday, though temperatures will be a bit warmer by the afternoon as winds begin to shift a little more out of the east, with highs in the middle 70s.
Heading into the holiday week, winds will become more easterly, which will eventually bring a few showers back to the area.
Look out for spotty coastal showers beginning Tuesday through at least Thursday along the east breeze.
The breeze coming off the ocean will also help moderate temperatures a little more, with highs set to warm back to near seasonal levels by Tuesday as highs return to the upper 70s.
