New Oceanfront High-Rise to Rise on Site of Old Florida Condo

Big changes could be on the horizon for Hallandale Beach as plans for a sleek oceanfront high-rise are making waves. The site at 1928 South Ocean Drive, once home to the 22-unit Biltmore Mansions condo, has been vacant since its demolition in 2021. Now, Playa House LLC, managed by Aventura-based developers Ariel and Jose Bromberg, is looking to bring something new—and luxurious—to this prime 1.22-acre oceanfront spot.

A Step Forward in Development

The Broward County Commission is set to review a key plat note amendment for the property on January 28. If approved, the change would allow for 30 high-rise condos instead of the original 22 multifamily units previously permitted on the site. While this move is a significant step forward, it’s still early days for the project.
