Russian and Uzbek Nationals Arrested in Florida for Voter Registration Fraud

A Russian national and an Uzbek national residing in Florida have been arrested for allegedly submitting fraudulent voter registration applications to the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections.

Dmitry Shushlebin , 45, a Russian citizen living in Miami Beach, and Sanjar Jamilov , 33, an Uzbek citizen living in St. Petersburg, are accused of conspiring to submit 132 fraudulent voter registration applications in February and March 2023. According to court filings, the applications were submitted under names other than their own, contained identical formatting errors, and exhibited signs of fraud, including repeating dates of birth, addresses, and nearly sequential Social Security numbers.

Authorities say change-of-address forms were also submitted to the U.S. Postal Service to redirect mail associated with the fraudulent applications to three locations controlled by the suspects…
