In news you didn’t want to know: Miami has been crowned the city with the most termite trouble in the U.S., claiming the top spot on Orkin’s “Top 50 Termite Cities” list. The Magic City, along with Los Angeles (No. 2) and Tampa (No. 3), have held on to their spots for a third year in a row. Unfortunately, yes, you read that right.
The pest control company gathered their findings from the cities where they performed the most residential termite treatments in 2024, from January 1 through December 31.
The cities with the highest termite activity are as follows:

Why is Miami #1?
While this pest news is no cause for panic, you might notice that cities with warmer climates find themselves at the top of the list. That’s because termites thrive in hotter weather, accelerating the rate at which they break down wood and becoming more active.
