A hit-and-run incident led to the arrest of two men after they fled the scene of a crash on March 20, 2025. The motorist responsible for fleeing was identified as 34-year-old Enrique De Jesus Cante-Gomez, of Miami, who was involved in a rear-end collision while driving a van with two passengers inside.
After the crash, instead of waiting for law enforcement, Cante-Gomez and one of his passengers fled the scene in the damaged van. The third passenger jumped into a separate vehicle, which also fled the area, further complicating the situation.
Deputies later spotted Cante-Gomez driving southbound in the same damaged van. It was revealed that he did not have a valid driver’s license and had never held a Florida driver’s license. In a further twist, the car that had been following the van was located nearby, with 28-year-old Victor Alexander Perez-Ruiz, also of Miami, behind the wheel.
