Miami Man Apprehended in Louisiana, Charged with First-Degree Murder of Sister

Miami-Dade detectives are actively piecing together the grim events that led to the fatal shooting of a woman in Miami. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) was called to the scene on April 4, where they found 60-year-old Beatriz Linares-Calamita with fatal gunshot wounds.

The investigation quickly turned to her brother, Pedro Pablo Linares, who had reportedly shot her without provocation and fled the state shortly after the crime. In a statement acquired by the sheriff’s office, it was noted that the detectives, using investigative methods, managed to quickly ascertain the shooter’s identity. Linares, a 57-year-old white male, was subsequently located in Louisiana, where he was apprehended and is currently being held pending extradition back to Miami-Dade County to face a charge of 1st Degree Murder.

Beatriz Linares-Calamita was declared deceased at the 300 block SW 79 Avenue crime scene by the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
