Miami-Dade Authorities Seek Leads in Doral Hit-and-Run That Killed Kentucky Man

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office is currently on the lookout for information relating to a hit-and-run crash, which claimed the life of 32-year-old Edell Estevez Romero last week. According to Local 10 News, deputies shared that the incident occurred early last Saturday, as Romero was traveling on his bicycle at the intersection of Northwest 25th Street and 95th Avenue in Doral.

The fatal event unfolded around 5:53 a.m., where the driver involved, yet to be identified by law enforcement, hit Romero and subsequently fled west on 25th Street without rendering aid. The sought-after vehicle has been described as a black 2013-2017 GMC Arcadia or Chevrolet Traverse, notable for damage to the an left side mirror. In a heartrending quote reported by Local 10 News, Frank Aguilar, Romero’s cousin, expressed his family’s anguish, stating, “To hit someone, flee, not report it is sad. And our family is in a lot of pain.”

Evidence suggests that the victim was en route to his job at a warehouse in Doral when struck. WSVN reported witnesses’ accounts of seeing an SUV driving away from the scene. Romero, who had moved to South Florida from Kentucky and had been in the U.S for two years, was rushed to a hospital but later succumbed to his injuries…
