Miami Faces Sweltering Heat Wave with Temperatures Feeling Like 100°

Miami residents should brace for high heat this week, as temperatures are expected to soar. The National Weather Service forecasts “a high near 88” for today, with “a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon” and southeast winds blowing at 7 to 10 mph. Meanwhile, Local 10 News warns of even higher “peak heat index” values stating, “High temperatures will reach 90° this afternoon. Combined with humidity it will feel like 100°+ today,” making for a scorching holiday weekend. The current conditions feature “Isolated Thunderstorms” with a low chance of rain to offer any respite from the intense heat, as most of the storms are expected to track west towards the Everglades Local 10 News.
