The Doral neighborhood has been hit by a string of brazen burglaries, and authorities now report that a suspect is in custody. Lawrence Trevonne Young, a 27-year-old man from Georgia, stands accused of a series of thefts that left residents of the Doral Landing East community on edge. Local 10 disclosed that police responded to multiple occupied residential and vehicle burglaries last Thursday, including one incident where a vehicle was stolen.
According to police, Young perpetrated these crimes with brazenness, burglarizing six cars and at least one home. He allegedly utilized garage openers found within the unlocked vehicles to gain access to the homes. NBC Miami reports that doorbell cameras captured footage of the suspect as he targeted the vehicles. In one instance, Young is accused of stealing a 2023 Kia Sportage to facilitate his escape.
An arrest form obtained by Local 10 shows that Young took a television, a computer, and multiple credit cards after gaining entry to the inside of a home through the garage. Surveillance evidence also linked him to several fraudulent charges made with the stolen credit cards, totaling over $1,000…
