Miami’s Department of Solid Waste Maintains Regular Trash Collection Schedule for Fourth of July

Despite the Independence Day celebrations and fireworks lighting up the Miami skyline, the city’s sanitation services will continue as scheduled. The City of Miami has announced that there will be no interruption to regular trash collection on the Fourth of July.

According to the City of Miami, residents with Friday trash, recycling, or bulky waste pickup should have their items ready 12 to 24 hours in advance. Officials advise placing items on the public right-of-way and ensuring they’re at least five feet away from obstacles like poles or parked cars. Items mixed with green garbage or blue recycling carts may be missed.

If residents have bulky waste not suitable for curbside pickup, they’re encouraged to visit the Mini Dump Facility on NW 20th Street. Operating on a holiday schedule, the facility will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Proof of City of Miami residency is required for access. This allows residents to properly dispose of bulky items ahead of the city’s Independence Day celebrations…
