Steep cuts expected as Miami-Dade’s mayor presents her proposed budget for the next Fiscal Year with the county 402 million in the red. To close that gap, Daniella Levine Cava is preparing a 13-billion-dollar package of spending cuts, layoffs and fee increased thanks to increased costs from newly established constitutional offices, and revenue declines. The mayor says she’ll address the crisis without cutting essential services. Reportedly on the chopping block—the “New Americans” office for immigrants, 37 Parks jobs and the offices of Neighborhood Safety and Innovation and Economic Development.
