Man accused of assaulting girlfriend inside Miami Springs hotel room

MIAMI SPRINGS, Fla. — A 42-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after police say he broke into a Miami Springs hotel room early Thursday morning, assaulted his girlfriend of two weeks, and dragged her away against her will.

The suspect, who Miami Springs police identified as Agustin Rodriguez, was arrested just after the violent incident unfolded at the Red Roof Plus Miami Airport, located at 3401 NW 42nd Ave., shortly before 6 a.m.

A man told police that Rodriguez, who is listed as homeless in his arrest report, kicked in the door to a hotel room on the second floor, and saw him with his girlfriend before he started attacking her, authorities said…
