A man was arrested after hitting a police officer while driving an off-road vehicle in Miami-Dade, officials said Sunday.
Adolfo Denis Jr., 24, is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge after the vehicle crashed into Pinecrest officer Andres Garcia and pinned him to his patrol car, according to Cpt. Ivan Osores and Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami. Jail records show Denis, who’s being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, also faces fleeing and eluding and aggravated battery charges.
Denis remains in jail as of Sunday; his bond hasn’t been set by a judge. Garcia was hit by the vehicle near Southwest 104th Street and U.S. 1., per CBS News Miami. The vehicle sped off and ran over Garcia’s foot. Officers ultimately stopped it on Krome Avenue near 167th Street…
