In the wake of recent shootings, Miami-Dade officials are swiftly taking action by organizing a significant active shooter drill at Coral Reef Senior High School. These exercises are part of a concerted effort to prepare for the worst, as schools become increasingly familiar with the threat of gun violence. According to WSVN, this drill, which is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. today, will not just be a small-scale operation but will involve student actors to simulate a more realistic scenario.

The drill follows a disturbing pattern of violence that has barely seemed to diminish in recent years.
