Authorities have removed all of the animals from Family Farms in Davie after the founder was arrested on several charges of animal cruelty.
Robert Lee Hoover, 51, was arrested last week on eight counts of tormenting or killing an animal and eight counts of causing death or suffering to an animal.
“With the necessary assistance of qualified veterinarians, all animals were removed due to their current conditions. The animals removed will continue to be evaluated and cared for under the supervision of the police department and veterinarians,” Davie Police said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Hoover’s arrest affidavit, PETA and other concerned citizens have filed multiple complaints of animal abuse against Family Farms. Allegations included underweight cows and animals being kept in muddy enclosures and lacking sufficient food and water…
