Coast Guard offloads $74M worth of cocaine in Miami after high-seas interception

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) announced on Tuesday that the crew of Cutter Tahoma offloaded nearly 10,000 pounds of cocaine — valued at $73.7 million — at Port Everglades on Tuesday, following a successful drug interdiction operation in the Eastern Pacific.

The seizure took place on June 24, around 120 miles northwest of Ecuador, where the USCG said the crew intercepted a boat suspected of trafficking illicit drugs. The operation was part of a coordinated effort involving multiple Coast Guard units and federal agencies…
