Man accused of dragging cop with motorcycle during flee attempt from traffic stop in Little Haiti

MIAMI — A 29-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after Miami police say he dragged an officer with a three-wheel motorcycle while trying to flee a traffic stop in Little Haiti.

Jail records show Turiq Equan Harrell was arrested Wednesday and faces one count of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, fleeing or eluding police at high speed causing injury or death, illegal use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and resisting an officer with violence.

According to an arrest report from the Miami Police Department’s Little Haiti Problem Solving Team, officers were conducting a violent crimes detail around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday near Northeast Second Avenue and Northeast 71st Street — an area authorities say has been “decimated by narcotics activity and retaliatory shootings.”…
