MIAMI, FL – A devastating fire broke out on the evening of Sunday, July 27, at the Miccosukee Tribe’s Tiger Camp on the Miccosukee Indian Reservation. The fire destroyed multiple structures, damaged vehicles, and deeply impacted the tribal community. Over 70 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel, alongside Miccosukee Police, responded quickly. Following an investigation, the Miccosukee Police Department confirmed the fire was accidental.
In a show of solidarity, team members at Miccosukee Casino & Resort raised $10,000 through the MICCO Cares Fund to support a tribal family whose home was among those destroyed. The donation has been formally presented to the tribe to assist with immediate recovery efforts, and additional in-kind and monetary donations continue to be accepted at the hotel front desk.
“On behalf of the entire Miccosukee Casino & Resort family, we are heartbroken by the loss this tribal family and our community have experienced,” said Brad Rhines, GM of Miccosukee Casino & Resort. “We are here for our community, just as they’ve always been here for us. We hope this donation helps bring some comfort and support during this incredibly difficult time.”…
