Cat shot with dart receives medical care at Fort Lauderdale rescue

A cat who was shot with a blowgun dart received emergency medical treatment on Monday at the Good Karma Pet Rescue in Fort Lauderdale.

Caregivers at the rescue said a woman who regularly feeds a colony of cats in Hallandale Beach first noticed that he had been shot with a dart about a week ago. The woman told them the cat was hiding in the bushes, terrified and wouldn’t come out.

They said it took several days to trap the cat and bring him in so they could remove the 5-inch dart…
