At Miami-Dade Animal Services (MDAS), two long-overlooked dogs, Bruno and Sedona, found a new beginning thanks to a fresh collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society.
Shelter pets Bruno and Sedona find their forever homes
Bruno, who had spent six months at the shelter, and Sedona, who had waited nearly three, were passed by countless times. But once MDAS implemented a simple recommendation from Best Friends—showcasing pets in the lobby where families can see them right away—everything changed. Within just one day of being moved to this new spot, both Bruno and Sedona were adopted.
Their stories are powerful reminders of how small adjustments can spark big transformations, especially in one of Florida’s busiest no-kill shelters.
