“Operation Credit Bust Out” exposes a multimillion-dollar network behind vehicle fraud across South Florida

Miami-Dade County officials have announced the results of a sweeping months-long investigation known as Operation “Credit Bust Out,” which has led to the arrest of over 20 individuals connected to a massive organized crime network spanning South Florida. The suspects are accused of orchestrating a sophisticated web of identity theft, falsified documentation, and dealership fraud—schemes that defrauded local businesses and banks out of millions of dollars.

A coordinated crackdown on auto fraud

The announcement came during a joint press conference in Doral, led by Miami-Dade County Tax Collector Daniel Fernandez and Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz. The officials confirmed that the group’s operations extended across several Miami-Dade dealerships and involved the resale and export of stolen vehicles to unsuspecting buyers and overseas markets.
