Bill Corben’s ‘Canceled: The Paula Deen’ will be on Gems

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Bill Corben will be showing his “Canceled: The Paula Deen” during The Miami Film Festival’s Gems, which will be playing 42 films from Oct. 29 to Nov. 5.

The Miami-based film director’s new film focuses on the dramatic rise and downfall of the Southern chef after she admitted to using a racial slur.

“We’ve made documentaries about notorious drug smugglers, about confessed murderers, about corrupt politicians — I never thought that Paula Deen would be the most controversial topic,” Corben said…
