MIAMI — The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida marked a historic milestone last week, breaking ground on a $40 million expansion at the Miccosukee Casino & Resort that leaders say will “shape the next generation of tribal hospitality, entertainment and cultural pride.”
The ceremonial groundbreaking, held Oct. 23 in the resort’s courtyard, brought together tribal leaders, community members and project partners. The event included a traditional blessing, remarks from tribal and property leaders, and a symbolic turning of the earth.
The first phase of the expansion will feature a resort-style pool and lazy river and a multi-purpose entertainment facility — both key parts of the Tribe’s long-term master plan…
