Miami Homes For All celebrates 40 years of housing advocacy

Miami Homes For All (MHFA), a leading nonprofit working to ensure that all Miami-Dade residents have a safe, affordable place to call home, recently celebrated its 40th anniversary with a special event at the Rubell Museum in Allapattah.

Founded in 1985 as the Miami Coalition for the Homeless, MHFA has evolved into one of the region’s most trusted sources of housing research, policy recommendations, and housing program development. Its programs include the 3C Initiative to activate smaller-scale affordable projects, the Greater Miami Housing Funders Collaborative for coordinated investment, and Housing 305, a housing navigation program for residents exiting shelter.

Miami Homes For All’s 2023 Housing Needs Assessment found that more than 60 percnt of Miami-Dade households spend beyond their means on housing, while the county faces a shortage of 90,000 affordable homes for working families.
