Miami-Dade County and Palmetto Bay Launch Construction of New Snowden Pedestrian Bridge to Enhance Old Cutler Trail

Miami-Dade County, together with the Village of Palmetto Bay, have initiated the construction of a new pedestrian walkway meant to balance the needs of safety and convenience for the residents of South Dade. The Snowden Pedestrian Bridge is set to provide a much-needed upgrade for pedestrians and cyclists navigating the Old Cutler Trail. The existing bridge on the trail has become insufficient, narrowing down choices for residents to move freely and safely. The promised 12-foot wide prefabricated structure is designed to quickly alleviate such issues, facilitating two-way traffic for those who walk, cycle, or simply enjoy the local scenery. “Old Cutler Trail is one of our county’s most cherished community paths, along a historic and beautiful roadway, used every day by families, students, commuters, runners, and cyclists,” Mayor Daniella Levine Cava told Miami-Dade.
