A 45-year-old Miami man is locked up on second-degree murder charges after authorities say he pushed a stranger off an elevated train platform. Jorge Gomez appeared in court on Friday, where a judge ordered him held without bond for the death of Kanisa Love.
The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 at the Dadeland North Metrorail Station. According to arrest records, Gomez approached Love as she tried to back away from him. Police say he then shoved the 32-year-old off the platform without provocation.
Video of the station indicates the platform is elevated dozens of feet in the air. While the fall happened just after noon, reports suggest authorities did not respond to the scene until the following morning. It was determined that Love died from blunt force trauma to the head…
