Recent Arrest Raises Concerns About Safety in Miami Springs Neighborhoods

Randy Gregory Gotrace was arrested by the Miami Springs Police Department on December 3, 2025. This is his second arrest in less than a month. According to Miami-Dade Corrections, Gotrace faces several charges. These include masked burglary of an occupied structure, possession of burglary tools, loitering or prowling, wearing a mask on the street, threatening law enforcement, battery on a police officer, and assault by a prisoner in a correctional institution.

Police state that Gotrace entered a local restaurant after hours without permission. When officers arrived, he allegedly threatened them. Authorities also report that he battered corrections officers while in custody. His previous arrest was on November 13, 2025, for prowling in a residential area at 4 a.m.

Officials are reviewing the reasons for Gotrace’s continued presence in the Miami Springs area. They are considering factors such as proximity to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional facility or possible personal connections.
