Longtime fraudster gets decade in prison for swindling senior dying of cancer

MIAMI — A 69-year-old woman with a sordid history of scams in South Florida is set to spend more than a decade behind bars.

On Wednesday, a Miami-Dade judge sentenced Ana Maria Nunez to 10-and-a-half years in prison, followed by 15 years of probation, for stealing more than $430,000 from Zoraida Economopoulos, 78, of Doral, as she suffered from terminal bladder cancer.

Investigators said she posed as Economopoulos’ daughter to obtain power of attorney over her assets…
