Miami-Dade Man Charged with Aggravated Assault Following Armed Road Rage Incident in Coral Terrace

A Miami-Dade man is facing charges after reportedly confessing to an explosive road rage confrontation involving a gun and a knife in the Coral Terrace neighborhood, as detailed by court records. Kayan Henrique De Almeida Fernandes, 32, was taken into custody last Friday, Local 10 reported. According to the outlet, the incident dates back to Nov. 6, when De Almeida Fernandes, employed as a tour guide, engaged in a verbal altercation with a woman about her driving and threatened violence against her and her husband before fleeing.

Upon his arrest at Southwest 75 Court and 34 Terrace, law enforcement found De Almeida Fernandes in possession of both the pocketknife and firearm mentioned in the accusations. The arrest was substantiated by surveillance footage capturing the road rage incident in front of the victims’ home, as mentioned in an arrest report acquired by Local 10. There were zero injuries reported in connection with the confrontation.

The case took a procedural step forward when De Almeida Fernandes appeared in court on Saturday. There, a judge ordered the defendant to steer clear of the two victims and posted his bond at $20,000. The charges that De Almeida Fernandes faces include two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, NBC Miami reported.
