Road Rage Turns Violent in Miami Neighborhood as Driver Threatens Couple With Knife and Gun, Police Say

Miami, FL – A quiet residential street turned into the scene of a violent confrontation earlier this month when a driver allegedly threatened to kill a woman who was backing her vehicle into her own driveway. Police have arrested a Miami man accused of escalating a routine traffic moment into a life-threatening encounter involving both a knife and a gun.

Road Rage Incident Unfolded While Woman Was Parking Her Car

According to police, the confrontation occurred on Nov. 6 as a woman was backing her car into her driveway. Officers said 32-year-old Kayan Dealmeida-Fernandes became enraged when he had to drive around her vehicle. Court documents state he honked his horn, went around her, and then stopped in the middle of the street before getting out to confront her.

Investigators said Dealmeida-Fernandes approached the woman aggressively, shouting profanities and accusing her of blocking his path. The report notes he yelled, “What the f— was that, b—? You saw me coming!”

Police Say Suspect Threatened to Kill the Woman

As the woman continued attempting to park, the situation intensified. Officers stated that Dealmeida-Fernandes stood in the roadway shouting before allegedly threatening her life. The report quotes him saying, “Do you want to die or no?” while brandishing a pocketknife as he moved closer to her vehicle.

The woman called out for her husband, who ran outside to help. Police said the husband shoved Dealmeida-Fernandes in an attempt to protect his wife, but the suspect continued to allegedly hold out the knife and threaten them both.

Gun Allegedly Pointed at Couple as Suspect Drove Away

The encounter did not end there. According to the arrest affidavit, as Dealmeida-Fernandes returned to his car and began to drive away, he allegedly pointed a gun at the couple, yelled a racial slur, and asked, “You want to die?” before fleeing the area…
