A Miami man was arrested after authorities said he spent years collecting his dead mother’s Social Security checks and pocketing tens of thousands of dollars.
Baby Casseus, 62, was arrested Tuesday on charges of grand theft and organized fraud over $50,000, Miami-Dade jail records showed.
According to an arrest report, the Social Security Administration conducted an investigation that showed Casseus’ mother, Rose Bien Aime Casseus, had died on July 21, 2020.
Despite that, funds were being deposited into a Bank of America account in her and her son’s name until December 2024, totaling over $51,000, the report said…
