Miami man nicknamed ‘Shank’ accused of shooting victim then fleeing

MIAMI — A Miami man was booked into jail early Friday morning on charges of attempted first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon after police said he shot a man earlier this year.

Miami police said Eugene Rashad Plez, 46, is accused of shooting the victim on Feb. 15 at around 4:30 p.m. near the 2200 block of Northwest 51st Street, in the county’s Brownsville area.

They said officers responded after a ShotSpotter alert detected multiple rounds fired in the area. They said the victim was transported in stable condition to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center…
