South Florida Sees Spike in Pediatric E-Bike and E-Scooter Injuries, Medical Experts Urge Caution

Doctors in South Florida are reporting an increase in pediatric injuries related to e-bikes and e-scooters. Local 10 News reported that Nicklaus Children’s Hospital has seen trauma cases more than double this year compared to last year, with some serious injuries including punctured lungs, broken bones, and internal organ damage.

Dr. Patricio Lau, a pediatric trauma surgeon at the hospital, said the number of high-level trauma cases has risen significantly.
