A Florida man has been charged in connection with the death of a 56-year-old woman found dead on a popular tourist beach the morning after Christmas, according to several new reports.
Local 10 news, Fox 13 and theSun Sentinel reported over the weekend that Brandon Ward McCray was recently arrested in connection with the death of Heather Asendorf.
McCray, 28, was taken into custody on Dec. 31, 2025 and later charged with sexual battery, kidnapping, battery and battery by strangulation, according to Broward County court documents reviewed by PEOPLE. However, he has not been charged with murder in connection with the death of Asendorf, 56.
