PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. — South Florida was in the midst of its deepest cold snap in more than a decade on Sunday morning, with temperatures in the mid-30s and wind chills in the mid-20s.
As of around 8:45 a.m., the low temperature in Miami had dropped to 35 degrees, the coldest recorded since December 2010. If it were to dip one degree lower, it would be the coldest temperature recorded since 1989.
