Bahama Breeze, the Caribbean-inspired chain known for its jerk chicken pasta and coconut shrimp, is set to close for good. After a 30-year run, its parent company announced it will be shutting down 28 remaining locations, including Miami’s Kendall staple.
In a news release, Darden Restaurants Inc., which also operates Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Yard House, The Capital Grille and more, said half of the locations will immediately shut down while the other half are converted into different brands.
When is Bahama Breeze closing?
On the bright side, you still have a couple of months to plan your last meal at your nearest Bahama Breeze location, as the restaurants slated for permanent closure will continue to operate through April 5 of this year.
According to the company, the remaining 14 sites are expected to be converted over the next 12 to 18 months, meaning they’ll continue to operate until any temporary closures are needed.

Why is Bahama Breeze closing?
