New Job Training and Hiring Center Opens at Main Library in Downtown Miami

Job seekers in downtown Miami have a new place to polish their resumes and prep for interviews, thanks to a collaboration between the Miami-Dade Public Library System and CareerSource South Florida. The partnership has produced a hiring and training center housed in the Main Library, all aimed at connecting residents with job opportunities and training resources.

During a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for February 17, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava will be present to usher in the CareerSource South Florida Center. “This new CareerSource South Florida Center reflects our commitment to expanding access to job training and employment opportunities for all residents,” Levine Cava said, according to a press release from the county. Her reported pledge outlines the county’s broader strategy, which includes a “No Wrong Door” approach that meets community members where they are, offering career services, digital literacy, and a bridge to reliable internet access.

Funding for this initiative is drawn from a hefty digital equity grant totaling over $1.2 million from the FloridaCommerce Office of Broadband.
