AVENTURA, Fla. — New video obtained exclusively by Local 10 News on Friday shows the moments a Miami man accused of smashing his way into an Aventura smoke shop last week was stopped by a police K-9, authorities said.
The suspect was identified by Aventura police as 20-year-old Daniel Kendrick Mejia.
They said the break-in happened around 2:44 a.m. on Feb. 13 at Vapes and Smoke near Northeast 208th Street and Biscayne Boulevard.
Investigators said Mejia first tried to get inside by reaching through a mail slot to unlock the door but was unsuccessful. They said he then shattered a glass panel window, reached in and unlocked the door…
