Mom Who Took 3-Year-Old on First Date with Man She Met Online Allegedly Gets Kidnapped Before Harrowing Escape

A 34-year-old Florida man is in custody after allegedly holding an Orlando woman and her 3-year-old child captive during their first in-person meeting. Saady Mijail Castellanos Triminio faces multiple felony charges, including kidnapping and battery, following a harrowing early-morning rescue by Miami police on Saturday, Feb. 21.

The incident underscores the growing risks associated with digital dating platforms, as investigators reveal the suspect allegedly lured the victim from Orlando to Miami under the guise of a birthday celebration before blocking her exit and seizing her phone.

From Digital Dating to False Imprisonment

According to an arrest affidavit, the victim and Castellanos Triminio connected on Facebook Dating approximately two weeks prior to the incident. After a series of video calls, the suspect reportedly offered to purchase the woman a ticket to Miami to celebrate his birthday.
