Moxies is sizing up Miracle Mile for a major glow-up, quietly filing plans to turn a one-story retail building on Coral Gables’ signature strip into a two-story restaurant with outdoor dining. The proposal focuses on 87 Coral Way, a prime block along the city’s shopping corridor, and would be another notable piece of the chain’s growing South Florida footprint if it gets the green light.
According to the South Florida Business Journal, Moxies submitted plans describing a two-level concept that would replace the existing retail structure and add expanded indoor and outdoor seating. The outlet notes that the application pitches the spot as a high-profile redevelopment along Miracle Mile.

City of Coral Gables records list the proposal under file DERC-26-01-0066 and describe “demolition of an existing retail building and new construction of a two-story restaurant with outdoor dining” at 87 Coral Way. The record, which includes a “Moxies Coral Gables DRC Submittal Package,” was created Jan. 16 and placed on the Development Review Committee agenda Jan. 30, per the City of Coral Gables filing.
