Two pit bulls involved in an attack on a 2-year-old boy in Miami Gardens on Tuesday evening have been euthanized, according to Miami-Dade Animal Services. The toddler, who was bitten in the face, was transferred to another hospital for treatment and is now listed in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Miami Gardens Police were called to a home along Northwest 36th Avenue just before 7 p.m. Authorities said the toddler walked into the backyard when the attack occurred. Miami Gardens Police spokesperson Diana Delgado noted the child was familiar with the dogs.
“He walked over to the backyard and was attacked by one of the dogs that were in the home’s backyard,” Delgado said. “It’s not an unfamiliar dog to the child. We don’t know what led up to the bite.”…
