Surveillance footage shows the moment the delivery worker stepped from behind her van and was hit by an oncoming vehicle that left without stopping
An Amazon delivery driver was struck by a vehicle while delivering packages in west Miami-Dade County on March 4, 2026. The driver fled the scene without stopping. A home surveillance camera captured the moment the female worker stepped from behind her parked Amazon van on Southwest 20th Street near 140th Place and was hit by an oncoming silver or black sedan. The impact sent her airborne. As a result, scattering packages across the street before the vehicle sped away.
Miami-Dade police released the 28-second surveillance video to help identify the suspect. The Amazon employee sustained injuries but is recovering at home. Additionally, Amazon confirmed they are cooperating with law enforcement and providing support through the worker’s delivery service partner. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked debate about fault and the seriousness of fleeing an accident scene.
Video Shows Driver Stepping Into Path of Oncoming Car
The surveillance footage was recorded by a residential camera overlooking the street. It shows the Amazon delivery van parked on the right side of the road in a suburban neighborhood. The driver, wearing dark clothing and carrying packages, emerges from behind the van and steps directly into the traffic lane.
