‘Operation Green Light’ returns to assist in reinstating suspended driver’s licenses

Miami-Dade County Clerk of the Court and Comptroller Juan Fernández-Barquín announced the start of “Operation Green Light” on Monday, an event that allows people to pay overdue fines to qualify for the reinstatement of their driver’s licenses and aims to reduce the number of suspensions.

Operation Green Light is intended to make it easier for eligible residents to make payments so they can clear outstanding court obligations.

Fernández-Barquín’s office noted in October, when another Green Light period opened, that thanks to this initiative—which takes place twice a year—Miami-Dade residents can save money in eligible cases and regain access to essential services that require a valid driver’s license…
