In just one season, Carson Beck became one of the most loved Miami Hurricanes. The quarterback, who was a multi-year starter at Georgia, came into Coral Gables and led Miami to 13 wins and the CFP Championship Game, picking up trophies in the Cotton Bowl and Fiesta Bowl along the way.
Beck, who threw for 3,813 yards and 30 touchdowns for the Hurricanes last season, was selected by the Arizona Cardinals with the first pick of the third round (65th overall) and he is expected to compete with veteran Jacoby Brissett for the starting spot. The 24-year-old quarterback was recently at a local event in Arizona where he talked about his time at Miami and gave a shout-out to the Hurricane fans.

‘”I’m forever grateful for all the love and support that not only me, but all my teammates and, you know, that team received,” Beck said. “The way that we traveled to all these big games, to Ohio State in Dallas and all the way out here in Arizona. You saw all these fans travel all over the place. It was a really special year, and I’m super grateful. I’m really thankful.”

It wasn’t always perfect for Beck, but there was never a question about his desire to win, and he got better as the season went along. After a disappointing overtime loss to SMU, Beck put a greater emphasis on ball protection and threw 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions over the final eight games of the season.
