MILWAUKEE, Wis (WFRV) — The Milwaukee FBI announced Operation Riptide earlier this week, which is described as an “ongoing campaign targeting criminals, infrastructure, and the financial networks behind cyber-enabled crime and fraud against the American people”.

The FBI revealed in a Facebook post that they’ve carried out several enforcement actions against individuals who threaten cyber safety, “serving search warrants, securing indictments, arresting suspects, and dismantling criminal infrastructure.”
The operation will last sixty days, taking place across the country in all 56 FBI field offices.
In the last year, more than one million complaints were filed by Americans, according to the FBI, reporting over $20 billion in losses because of cyber-related crimes and online fraud.
