MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A Milwaukee family is grieving after a beloved father of four, with a baby on the way, drowned Saturday.
“All he wanted to do was provide for his family, and he loved doing that. He lived for his family the whole time,” said Aydee Mejia, Juan Mejia’s niece.
Aydee says Juan was on a boat on Nagawicka Lake in Delafield with his friends Saturday when he jumped in the water and never resurfaced. When search and rescue teams found Juan, who was 38 years old, he was dead.
“He enjoyed being in the water,” said Aydee. “He was a good swimmer, so for us, this was something very unexpected and tragic for the family.”
