MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) – The Centers for Independence (CFI) has announced that it will be permanently closing its Milwaukee CFI Home Care program this October, according to a letter addressed to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and Milwaukee city officials.
MCFI is a nonprofit, certified Medical Assistance Personal Care Agency that provides in-home community-based services to elderly and disabled groups.

In the letter, corporate leadership determined that the current home care operating model is no longer financially sustainable. They say ongoing obstacles surrounding reimbursement levels, service delivery costs, and workforce pressures have grown the difficulties of long-term success.
As a result, the home care business will be closing, and MCFI will focus their resources on programs and services that are more closely aligned with their core mission and organizational priorities…
