A 28-year-old former caretaker at a Mequon memory care facility has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after prosecutors say she pushed a 76-year-old resident to the ground, breaking her hip and setting off a medical decline that killed the woman roughly ten weeks later. An Ozaukee County judge handed down the sentence to Abrianna Clark, who was convicted of second-degree reckless homicide and felony physical abuse of an elder person, along with 10 years of extended supervision to follow.
The victim has been identified in local reporting as Rebecca “Becky” Siefert, a Mequon resident who died on January 27, 2025, at a senior living facility in Cedarburg, according to court filings cited by CBS 58. The fatal encounter took place on November 7, 2024, in the specialized memory care unit at StoryPoint Senior Living on West Mequon Road, according to the criminal complaint reported by FOX6 News Milwaukee. A Fractured Hip, Then a Fatal Decline
Siefert suffered a broken left femur, per court filings, and underwent emergency surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital to insert a metal rod, according to the same CBS 58 report. Over the following ten weeks, she lost 50 pounds and never walked again before her death. The Ozaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, which conducted an autopsy, identified her cause of death as a complication of the left hip fracture tied to the November 2024 injury, per court filings.
Clark told police she found the victim lying on the bathroom floor, according to the criminal complaint, and she has maintained that she did not push her.
