Milwaukee mayor pitches nearly $20M for road construction

Responding to the longstanding buzz around Milwaukee‘s potholes, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson presented nearly $20 million for road construction as part of the next city budget proposal.

A wet, rainy spring, extreme weather like tornadoes and freezing winter has contributed to widespread potholes in the city, according to state officials. Over the summer, road crews have worked to fill the cracks with asphalt, however many more drivers found themselves requesting car service after driving on rough streets.

Milwaukee’s capital budget will include $19.2 million for road construction and additional funding to buy more equipment to fill potholes with, according to a report from Urban Milwaukee…
