Trial date set for Jackson County deputy enters not guilty plea in shooting case

BLACK RIVER FALLS — A Jackson County deputy charged with shooting and paralyzing a teen will go on trial in August 2027.

Stan A. Edington, 39, Elm Grove, was charged in August 2025 with second-degree recklessly endangering safety in Jackson County Court. He entered a not guilty plea last December

Judge Mark Goodman set the trial to begin Aug. 24 and reserved four days for proceedings. Edington is slated to return to court this Friday for a status conference…
